*** Interesting Facts ***

His fantastic works such as "The Call of Cthulhu" and "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward" cause many to believe that H.P. Lovecraft was one of the greatest horror authors to ever walk the Earth.

* Many of the famed author's relatives suffered from psychological issues, which deeply affected his childhood. While on a business trip in 1893, Lovecraft's father suddenly snapped and went completely insane. He was institutionalized for the rest of his life.

* Lovecraft's love of literature started early on. At the young age of three, Lovecraft could already read poems aloud. By the age of six, he was already writing poems all on his own.

* Despite the fact that he was a child prodigy, Lovecraft rarely went to school. He was a sickly child, and developed many illnesses, though it is thought that many were only psychological. By the time he began to regularly attend school, he was eight years old. Shortly after, the future author was taken out again.

* Following the author's separation from his wife, his life completely collapsed. He was destitute, and was forced to move in with some relatives. As Lovecraft grew poorer and poorer, he and his kin were forced to
move to shabbier conditions. Eventually, this lifestyle took a great toll on Lovecraft as he developed malnutrition.
